All of us have joked time to time about losing our minds when we’ve tried to remember a person’s name, title of a song, actor, or where we left the car keys. Occasional memory loss doesn’t necessarily indicate that we are on the verge of contracting the insidious Alzheimer’s disease.
Like most things I post on my site, simplicity is the key to exercises that train our six senses to re-awaken and become sharp once again.
If you find yourself struggling to remember things you knew as well as your own name, (unless you’ve forgotten that too), then this simple exercise is for you:
Recall Exercise
When you are seeking to recall any item you once knew, touch your index and middle fingers to your thumb. Keep these digits in place and program your mind for recall by saying out loud, “I want to remember where I placed the car keys.”
This is a trigger mechanism for programming the brain that when you do this gesture your brain will reach into your subconscious and pull out the thing that you are trying to remember.
Practice it – and be amazed at how effective this can work for you!
