Here I am in my fourth full week of being miserably sick with Goddess knows what!  I truly do not have the energy to write or to inspire and my friend Nancy, our resident Astrologer, drops me a line today with how to get through the Holiday chaos.  So to all my good friends, seen and unseen – Happy Thanksgiving and savor the memories of time spent close.

From Nancy:

Thought I would write a few pithy ways to get into the Holiday Spirit, and also survive the madness that encompasses these few days of bliss…  according to the stars.

We are so lucky to have the moon in Pisces, the sign of peace, love, kindness, empathy and caring on Thanksgiving Day — (can you tell I’m a Pisces?)  Alrighty then — let me clue you in on the less positive side of the sign — Pisces can also be whiny, too sensitive, scattered, indecisive (is that the same thing?), and overly emotional…  However — we can concentrate on the positive aspects and not only save our sanity, but enjoy our friends and family during the “crunch” of activity that might be driving us mad…

First our focus should be on thankfulness — there is always something to be thankful for even in these stressful jobless and credit ridden times.  Concentrate on the good, the happy, the funny (always have to have that sense of humor) and the fundamentals that make up our lives.  We choose to be happy, even when there is strife and hardship everywhere; it isn’t always easy, but for these few days a year, I always feel better when I set my mind to be positive no matter the aura of those around me, or the chores that lie ahead.   And — with the Sun in joyous Sagittarius, we have the bonus of looking ahead with more insight and with more anticipation that all will be well.  Yes these two signs don’t always blend well, but in this case the fiery sun tempers the watery moon and if any tears are shed — they should be of joy…

The planet of magic Neptune, and the planet of good luck Jupiter are in Aquarius, making us aware of all mankind and the journey it has taken to get us to this point in time…  We feel love and compassion for those less fortunate, and also for those members of our family who are not doing well on their pathway through this lifetime.  We reap what we sow — and we get back in triplicate what we give out — lavish those you love with caring, kindness and understanding, and you will be rewarded in kind with more love, respect and honor than you would ever believe.

Venus the planet of love and caring is in passionate Scorpio — so the only caveat is to be aware that emotions might overflow — no discussing politics or sports teams…  Mercury is riding alongside the Sun in Sagittarius and will make conversation flow easily and with witty repartee, and yes you do have to laugh at “Uncle Joe’s” jokes (that you’ve heard 100 times before).  All in all a wonderful alignment of the planets to ensure that we will have a joyous and bountiful Thanksgiving Day –

May your day be filled with family, friends, fun and, of course — Food !!!!  Enjoy !!!

A humble note of appreciation and thanks to our resident Queen Nancy, as she bestows astrological wisdom from her Castle in the North.

Here we are at the beginning of a new Zodiacal cycle, with the Spring Equinox arriving on March 20th at 6:44 AM EST.  Shortly after, on March 26th at 11:07 AM EST the New Moon arrives in Aries at 6 Degrees.  Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac, and as such brings us energy, courage, and the desire to move ahead with our plans, wishes, and affirmations.

There is a lot of energy around this month, until the 20th the Sun in Pisces joins both Mercury and Mars in that sign — Emotions may be raised, but goals dear to your heart can be achieved with a little less angst, and lots of planning.  Venus, on the other hand is in Aries and is Rx (retrograde) until April 11th — this is a good time to review your relationships, both personal and other.  Ask yourself if they are working for you or against you — this is a great time to listen to that inner core where your truth lies.  After Venus turns direct, you will be able to put forth those changes that you feel will improve your partnerships, or you will have to make some serious decisions about those relationships that may have run their course.  It’s never easy to come to a place of change — but that comfortable groove you think you have been in — just may have turned into a rut.  Aries, and Mars will give you the opportunity to have the courage to move forward, and find ways to improve your life.  Venus in Aries, though a bit overwhelmed, now has the inner strength to give and receive the love that we all deserve.  Just don’t let an emotional overload blind you to the beautiful truths that are in flux all around you.

The New Moon (and Sun) in Aries begins our trek through the Zodiac this year… Aries is ruled by Mars (Co-ruler of Scorpio) — and is a powerful Cardinal Fire sign.  Never underestimate the passion and strength of the sign Aries, this is a “can do” sign, a lot can be accomplished under these aspects.  Aries rules the head, courage, soldiers, police, boldness, energy, and jobs that require strength and any field related to heavy metals.  So our affirmations can be about the strength to get things done, having more energy and less fatigue, getting things started, especially those things we have been putting off.  Also, Aries likes to be first — “I am” shouts those under Mars rulership.  One caveat — remember to look before you leap — Aries can be precipitous in charging forward, without good planning.

Write out your affirmations or wishes and be specific — those desires you have that are difficult to manifest can be repeated, the new items on your list will be given a boost of Aries energy!  Especially in this season of renewal and growth, be sure to get those ideas into the ether, so they may start to bloom and flower into manifestation.  Magical energy is abundant at this time of year, and you can take advantage of the natural cycle that is on our doorstep.  Be brave and bold in your desires — arm yourself with knowledge — and move forward into your destiny!

Remember to add 1 hour for Daylight Savings Time to the times that appear above, and also when planning your affirmations, any time during the 26th, after the New Moon arrives is fine for writing your list.  May you have energy, courage, and many wonderful beginnings.
