Buzz-Cut

Ah, marketing.  Each year or so a new buzz word is thrust out there so people can feel validated and find membership in some mass consciousness.  The cool people distinguish themselves by injecting the word of the moment into conversation as frequently as picking white lint off a black sweater.

Oprah has her “Ah-Ha Moment”.  The moment in a daily routine, where you gain some incredible insight as to the simplicity of how life works if you just get out of the way and let inspiration and guidance flow through you.  “Do you get that people?”, Oprah announces to the camera lens.

Remember “Authentic”? Your authentic self.  Well, even the most miserable, negative thinker in the world is authentic, aren’t they?  What are we if not authentic?  Even a phony is authentic.  Genuine, authentic two-faced phony.  There is an honest consistency in all authenticity.

Then there was “Synchronicity”.  The experience of two or more unrelated events somehow coming together to give a person deep personal insight into a greater meaning.  Aren’t events coinciding with each other more than just synchronicity?  Isn’t it more impactful to acknowledge that even though we are small, and humbled by the Universe’s breadth and depth, in some mysterious structure our microcosmic lives actually have a way of touching each other with meaning and connectivity of purpose?

Let’s not forget, “Mentor”. A few years ago it was mentoring.  Everyone needed someone, supposedly smarter than themselves, to show them the ropes.  But isn’t someone else showing you the ropes just you fulfilling a part of their path and not on your own?  Feedback from those more experienced is a plus, but isn’t part of the journey about you falling on your face, picking yourself up and starting over to find your own way?  The way to being an individual with your own unique perspectives?

When you recognize that an Ah-Ha moment is a perfect palindrome and then recognize that the word ah is a mantra for manifesting thoughts in the physical world and ha is a mantra for dispelling sorrow you see the ah-ha moment as an opportunity for inner peace of mind.

Think on all that would you?

Om Shanti Om.
